Photos from Tour: Sunshine and Rainbows (Preview)

1. In 2020, our Asia-Pacific tour was cut short in Sydney, Australia. So this April, we were especially excited to return to perform. And between our 12 shows here, we visited some of the best sights around Sydney!
2. Dancer Kexin Li makes her pointe: an epic day is on the horizon.
3. From the dancers: “wish you were here!”
4. In the past, artists looked to the divine for inspiration. They would meditate and seek virtue within, and they believed that to create uplifting artistry, they must first cultivate goodness. The young members of Shen Yun carry forward this noble tradition.
5. Outside the Gold Coast theater, male dancers condition the mind just as much as they hone the body. Shen Yun dancers often practice standing or sitting meditation as part of an effective pre-performance routine. And what better backdrop for meditating than the vista of this local park?
6. From one beautiful landscape to another, our journey next finds us outside Neuschwanstein Castle in Füssen, Germany.
7. Whenever our tour takes us to Germany, we love visiting the fairy tale-esque Neuschwanstein Castle. This time, we explored the scenic Pöllat River below.
8. There it is—a landmark straight out of the Grimm Brothers’ world of magic and folklore.
9. Known as the zi jin guan (literally “purple-gold crown”) jump, this is an essential technique for female classical Chinese dancers. Back to the US. San Luis Obispo, LA.
10. No, it’s not a strange new form of soccer; it’s dancer Grace Rubacek getting in her kicks at a plaza in San Luis Obispo.
11. When it comes to fruit picking, Grace makes it more than just a “hands-on” experience.
12. While getting ready for Florida shows, a relaxing visit to the beach is a must. The male dancers flip into the surf, almost like dolphins jumping over the waves.
13. Taking it easy in Tampa, Florida.
14. Just a quick stretch before going for a swim.
15. Principal dancer Elsie Shi welcomes a rainbow sighting in the Sunshine State with open arms and a pointe to the sky.
16. An encouraging sign from the heavens for the upcoming shows!
17. The beautiful Leif Erikson Park is one of Duluth's most popular parks. Principal dancer Linjie Huang strikes a pose beneath Corinthian columns.
18. Crisp ocean breeze, spectacular views, and best of all: awesome friends to share the experience with!
19. A quick look behind the scenes before shows begin in West Palm Beach, at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts.
20. Left to right: Yun Chu (conductor), Astrid Martig (concertmaster), and Tseyu Chang (first violin) at the Detroit Opera House.
