Holiday and Day Before Tour Bustle

With the holiday and tour season approaching, I’ve been busier than usual. Actually, that’s an understatement: my brain is near exploding right now. Last-minute dress rehearsals, costume altering, and gift-wrapping have taken quite a toll on me. But I guess that’s just the life of a Shen Yun performer.

Now that I look back at it, the speed of this year’s preparations surprises me. As soon as a new dance was choreographed, the empty racks in the wardrobe department were filled with colorful costumes in the blink of an eye. I feel like last year’s tour just ended, and BAM! the 2011 tour is already here.

After all the initial prep work, and after the structure of this year’s show was set, the dances, music, and even the singers’ lyrics were modified over and over. I guess what really touches me is how everyone cooperates and sacrifices their own time to help improve our show in hopes that the audience will like it.

We’re setting off for Omaha tomorrow…I can’t wait to share this year’s show with everyone!
