Layout Step Out
LĀ LĀ TÍ (拉拉提)
The layout step out is essentially a backward somersault with the legs forming a front split while the body is upside down in midair. It can be performed from a standing position, but is more commonly part of a combination and may come out of a roundoff, back handspring, or whip back. In traditional Chinese performing arts, it is known as la la ti, or, “pulling up into a somersault.”
