Shen Yun Review: Barbara Jöstlein Currie, musician, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra

“It was nice to hear the live orchestra, and to see the musicians, and especially to see the Chinese instruments. That’s just something I don’t get a chance to hear very often, and so it was really wonderful… I liked how they used the Western instruments with the Chinese instruments so beautifully, I thought that was really nice... They are very spiritually involved, and meditate, on top of practicing their art form, which is obviously very difficult. And they are such amazing artists, physically, too. You can see the joy that they have... I think it was beautiful, it was a wonderful thing. I’ve always wanted to see it, and I finally had the opportunity to come. And I’m so happy that I did.”
