Torsten Trey started studying piano and oboe at a young age. Among his teachers were Stephan Seebass at the Bremer Conservatory (who taught him piano), Riccardo Rodriguez (oboe), Frank Juschka, principal oboist of the Oldenburg State Theater, and Rudolph Vrbsky, principal oboist of the National Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Trey played oboe in the Oldenburg Jugendorchester under conductor Holger Zindler and in a variety of other groups. A doubler on English horn, Mr. Trey’s natural talent has led to his being called a “born English horn player.”
